GSC recognizes the significance of health, safety and environment (HSE) management as inevitable and important aspect in maintaining the standards set by the Competent Authorities of the concerned Municipalities in order to protect both the employees and the environment as well as to reduce possible safety risks across the Building and Construction Sector’s own activities and employees.

We must be proactive about our safety and that of our team members. Our company is determined to safeguard employee’s health and security, operate the job safely and protect the environment.

Our employees’ safety is the main concern of our company. It is our aim to provide safe, healthy and secure environment for all members of the company as well as to provide adequate control of health and safety risks arising from work activities, by developing and enforcing preventive specific rule measures. All employees are encouraged to follow safety standards and give their earnest consideration to the rules of safety presented to you in order to eliminate unnecessary risks and make this entity a safe workplace. Our workplace cleanliness is another important concern of our company. Keeping the project area clean, elegant and hygienic is one of the top priorities of our policy.

GSC is committed to apply the following general policy to all of its employees:

a- Do not perform a job without proper training and personal protective equipment or while impaired by alcohol, drugs or controlled substances.

b- Stop any job at any time if it believes conditions are unsafe and immediately report any unsafe conduct to a supervisor.

c- All staff on site always wear seat belts and do not use mobile phones or electronic devices while driving.

d- Minimizing our environmental impact by preventing pollution and minimizing waste.

SC ensures continuous coordination and cooperation with the concerned authorities in this respect to effectively apply the HSE policy in accordance with the HSE standards laid down in HSE plans of B & C Sector, and any other additional standards either included in the contract specification, or agreed on site.

• Applicable arrangements The following rules and arrangements are to be observed and obeyed by all company’s employees at the workplace, project site and specific areas:

• Protecting working staff:

1- Observe and practice the safety procedures established for the job.

2- Safety signs and notices must be followed.

3-Report any unsafe condition or acts to your supervisor.

4-In case of sickness or injury, no matter how slight, report at once to your supervisor.

5-Firefighting equipment should be in a visible designated place.

6-Observe “No Smoking” regulations.

7-Do not operate machines or equipment until you have been properly instructed and authorized to do so by your supervisor.

8-Place trash and paper in proper containers.

9-Wear hard-sole shoes and appropriate clothing and all personal protective equipment (i.e., Helmet, safety glasses, and reflective vest) required by the job at hand.

10-Where required, you must wear protective equipment, such as goggles, safety glasses, masks, gloves, hair nets, etc. appropriate to the task.

11-Do not exceed a speed that is safe for existing conditions.

12-Use designated passages when moving from one place to another; never take hazardous shortcuts (i.e., between moving equipment or across roadways).

13-Lift properly—use your leg muscles, not your back muscles. For heavier loads, ask for assistance.

14-In no case should an employee treat his/her own or someone else’s injuries or attempt to remove foreign particles from someone else’s eye.

15-In case of injury resulting in possible fracture to legs, back, or neck, or any accident resulting in an unconscious condition, or a severe head injury, the employee is not to be moved until medical attention has been given by authorized personnel.

16-All employees whose jobs involve driving must comply with journey management and specific safe driving requirements. GSC mandates that all vehicle occupants wear seatbelts. Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is not permitted. Use of mobile phones or electronic devices while driving is not permitted—even if the device is hands-free. The driver must bring the vehicle to a complete stop before using any such device.

•Protecting the Environment

GSC is committed to minimizing its impact on the environment. We do this by:

1-Preventing pollution, reducing emissions, consuming fewer natural resources and minimizing waste.

2- Placing trash and papers in proper containers. Our company shall keep the workplace clean and maintain good housekeeping at all times and safely dispose of workplace wastes according to the contractual conditions pursuant to applicable laws in this regards and with the client approval for proper waste disposal procedures.

3-Observing proper places for “Smoking” and “No smoking”.

4-Using designated toilets in the project area.
